Learning Disabilities (LD)
Learning disabilities are neurological conditions that affect the way a child’s brain processes and uses information. They do not reflect a child’s intelligence — in fact, many children with learning disabilities are very bright. Common types include Dyslexia (reading difficulties), Dyscalculia (math difficulties), and Dysgraphia (writing difficulties). With proper support and teaching strategies, these children can succeed academically and in life.
- Difficulty reading, writing, or understanding numbers despite normal intelligence
- Trouble remembering or following multi-step instructions
- Poor coordination when writing or organizing thoughts on paper
- Struggles with time management, planning, and completing schoolwork
- Often feeling frustrated, low in confidence, or avoiding school tasks they find difficult
